RSCC discusses new sister city with Korhogo, Cote d'Ivoire
RSCC in entering preliminary discussion with local residents and contacts in the potential sister city, to expand to a third sister city with Korhogo, Cote d'Ivoire. RSCC will follow the new sister city policy and procedure (see the Governing Documents page)
Actions at Annual Meeting 2024
RSCC re-elected directors with expiring terms at the 2024 Annual Meeting of the Corporation: Kuan Lee, Gilbert Santiago, Adjoua Silue, and David Tang. Also Liz von Kaenal was re-appointed to an M&C seat in the year. Thank you directors for your continued service. Then some by-law changes were passed relating to moving our annual meeting to the spring, modernizing some operations and correcting or aligning by-laws to current practice.
RSCC mourns Max Wappel
Max Wappel was a former school liaison, emcee and director for RSCC. He resigned lately to focus on treatment of an aggressive cancer diagnosis. He succumbed to that disease on May 13. He was much too young for this passing. We are shaken.
Pinneberg, Germany Elects a new Bürgermeister: Thomas Voerste
Thomas Voerste was elected as a new Bürgermeiste in Pinneberg, in the election of October 29, 2023. He will be innaugurated January 9, 2024. He replaces Bürgermeisterin Urte Steinberg, whom retired after ten years of service.
RSCC Elects New President: David Hill
At the October 2023 Board meeting, RSCC Directors elected a new President: David Hill. Mr. Hill supersedes Drew Powell, effective directly.
New Directors, Annual Meeting 2023
RSCC welcomes three new directors, elected at the 2023 Annual Meeting of the Corporation: Hung-Bin Ding, Chaiyee Mao, Adjoua Silue. Welcome aboard and thank you for your service. These directors fill seats vacated by Allison Chang, Chris Malone and Max Wappel.
Yilan City, Taiwan, Elects a new Mayor: Chen Mei-Ling
During Taiwan national elections, Nov. 26, 2022, Yilan City elected a new mayor: Chen Mei-Ling. Former Mayor Chiang did not run again, opting to run for Yilan County Magistrate instead. [More information to come.]
RSCC's own Drew Powell elected to Board of Directors of Sister Cities Intl., at their July 2022 Annual Meeting (in Santa Fe, NM).
He adds this national level service to already being the Maryland State Representative to Sister Cities Intl.
